In undulating pasture. B. Ó Ciobháin recorded the placename 'gort na pluaise' [field of the cave] at this location (SMR file). There are no visible remains of any Man-made underground passage and while the name 'gort na pluaise' may refer to a Man-made underground passage, it could also imply a natural cave. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
