Man-made underground passage in Copsetown — Report the wrong picture

Copsetown hides a man-made underground passage inside a ringfort, though no entrance remains visible today. Workmen digging the fort ditch once exposed a flagstone that may have marked its lintel before they covered it again. The passage vanished back into darkness, leaving behind only a buried shape and a warning that even forgotten rooms can resist being found.

In ringfort (CO024-103---). Grove White (1905-25, vol. 2, 255) recorded that workmen digging in ditch of fort exposed a flagstone which was immediately covered in. This was possibly lintel of Man-made underground passage. No visible surface trace. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
