Under Cluain Searrach, a broken underground passage still lies trapped inside the remains of a small fort. It was known at the rear of a house beside the road to Cloonsharragh, damaged in several places but still recognizable as a made hollow rather than a natural cave. Perhaps people dug it to keep warmth, hide goods or exclude others from the fort. That much has been lost, but the shape of the intention remains: a small place made deeper, and part of its life buried again.

A small fort (KE035-006----) and Man-made underground passage (KE035-006001-) were recorded in a corner of a field, at the rear of a house on the N side of the road leading to Cloonsharragh from Cappagh (CKFC 1953). It was described as 'a small fort long since dug out but in the interior of the ring is the remains of a Man-made underground passage much damaged and broken down in several places'.
