Cloghfune holds a lost underground chamber that appeared when farmyard earth collapsed during reconstruction. The passage stood about 1.25 metres high, then disappeared beneath new soil before anyone could enter or measure it. It still belongs to the slope above Bantry Bay, nearby a possible rath and children's burial ground, waiting for the day the ground opens again.
In a farmyard, on a S-facing slope overlooking the mouth of Bantry Bay. In the course of reconstruction work in the farmyard some years ago the ground collapsed revealing underground passages (H c. 1.25m). It was not possible to examine the passages and they were subsequently covered over. A possible rath (CO127-038001-) and a children's burial ground (CO127-038002-) lie c. 100m to the SSW.
