Man-made underground passage in Carrigbaun (carbery East (w.d.) By.)

Discovered June 1989. Three earth-cut chambers joined by creepways. Chamber 1: L 2.04m; Wth 1.3m; H 0.92m. Chamber 2: L 2.9m; Wth 1.1m; H 0.68m. Chamber 3: L 3.75m; Wth 1.64m; H 0.82m. Long axis aligned N-S. Air vent in chamber 2. Construction shaft in all chambers. Original entrance possibly into chamber 3. Small annexe-like chamber without creephole at N end Chamber 3. Present access through accidental collapse of roof chamber 2. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
