What is recorded here
On a S-facing slope in rocky grassland. All that is visible is a small depression (L/Wth 1m) which is filled with square blocks of limestone. A broken roof lintel is evident on NNW side and part of a drystone-built wall on SSE side. From this point, the Man-made underground passage appears to curve off to SW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
