Man-made underground passage in Carhoomeengar West

In rough pasture, on a peat-covered hillock overlooking the headwaters of Kenmare Bay. An oval opening (0.8m N-S; 0.6m E-W) at the base of a depression (diam. 2m) leads to an earth-cut Man-made underground passage (D 1.25m) which extends in a S direction. The entrance is partially blocked by stones and collapsing clay. There is a hut site (KE084-073001-) c. 2m to the S and a field boundary (KE084-073003-) c. 16m to the W.
