What is recorded here
Within the interior of a cashel (CL008-016004-). Westropp (1905, 355) recorded that an old herdsman told him that ‘there was a Man-made underground passage in the garth which ended in a deep pit, “down into water”’; the entrance was visible but was filled up with stones. In the SE quadrant of the cashel, where a section of the site had been quarried out, a number of large slabs and intermittent lengths of drystone-walling were visible. They may mark the site of a collapsed Man-made underground passage.
