What is recorded here

Caherdean holds a hidden chamber beneath two large stone slabs in the northern half of its rath. A child once threw stones into the dark cavity and listened for the echo, while surveyors came later to find only closed earth and no visible opening. The chamber may still wait beneath the grass, remembering the weight of small stones and the patience of forgetting.

In a rath (KE058-132001-). A 'Cavern' was recorded in this rath in the 1840s (OSNB, Kilcredane, 17). The landowner pointed out two large stone slabs in a clear area in the N half of the rath which, according to him, mark the location of a possible Man-made underground passage. He recalls as a child throwing stones into a cavity under the slabs. The cavity was not visible at the time of inspection.
