Boggy pasture on the South side of Meelin ridge hides a vanished underground chamber once reached by a short flight of steps. Ua Riain found three narrow doorways in 1927, each guarding a blocked passage, while locals still call the place Lisnalour Oven because it lies near Lisnalour rath. The entry has since disappeared beneath the land, leaving behind a hole in memory rather than a hole in the ground.

This Man-made underground passage, not marked on the OS maps, is located in rough boggy pasture on the S side of Meelin ridge, just N of the upper tributary of the Ferta river. It was accessible within living memory, but no surface trace of it is now apparent. It was recorded by Ua Riain who describes ‘a short flight of steps’ leading down to a ‘narrow doorway’, beyond which were two further ‘doorways’, with a blocked passage behind each (1927). These ‘doorways’ were presumably creepways. The site is locally known as ‘Lisnalour Oven’, due to its proximity to Lisnalour rath (KE070-021----), c. 270m to NNW.
