Man-made underground passage in Ballinurd — Report the wrong picture

Underground in the field called Lislea, people built a passage rather than leaving the ground empty. Whether it stored grain, hid people or marked a boundary has faded, but the dug shape still answers human hands. Ballinurd keeps that much of the maker alive: someone walked here, judged the soil, and carried stone away in the dark.

In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
