One chamber is a room for thinking, not a claim that the whole story is complete. The chamber may contain a hidden door, a forgotten staircase or a path into the hill. The chamber may also contain a dead end, a discarded plan or a mistake the builders never hidden. A clear missing chamber is better than a polished false one.

Ballinglanna Fort (KE009-059----). This univallate ringfort consists of a circular area enclosed by a high, steep bank of earth and stone and an exterior fosse. The interior is at a higher level than the surrounding land and contains the remains of house-sites and possibly a Man-made underground passage. Immediately W of mound KE009-059002- is a depression, 5.6m in width and 12m long, which travels W into the enclosing bank. According to local stories this tunnel (KE009-059003-) leads out of the ringfort. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle.
