Man-made underground passage in An Gleann Beag

This blocked Man-made underground passage, not marked on the OS maps, is located in a low hillock a short distance W of the White Strand, locally called Glanbeg Strand, on the N shore of Kenmare Bay. Its only visible surface trace is an earth-embedded slab, now largely concealed in overgrowth. The passage, which is aligned E-W, has been inaccessible for many years (local information). The site is locally called 'Cnocán na hÓnach' (Ó Cíobháin 1984a, 77). The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
