What is recorded here
Local information indicated the presence of a Man-made underground passage near the W extremity of Beenbane townland, c. 200-300m W of the previous example. The precise location was not established and it remains a possibility that this is a confused reference to the latter site or to the 2nd Man-made underground passage mentioned in that report.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 744. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
