What is recorded here
In the W half of a rath (MA082-015001-). A ‘Man-made underground passage’ is indicated in the centre of the W half of the rath on the 1916 OS 6-inch map. According local information, the Man-made underground passage, which has two stone-built chambers, was accessible in the mid-20th century, but was subsequently blocked up. A roughly circular depression (diam. c. 3m) close to the rath bank at W marks the location.
