Detached three-bay two-storey former gate lodge, built c.1840, with lean-to bays flanking gabled central bay and having three-bay two-storey block to the rear. Pitched slate roofs with ashlar chimneystacks. Rendered walls with limestone quoins. Timber sash windows set in ashlar limestone surrounds with hood mouldings above.

This gate lodge, known as "Berry's Lodge", forms part of an interesting group of Loughcrew demesne-related structures, with the Ionic portico, workers' houses, church, stables, graveyard and gate lodges. This gate lodge retains many original features and materials, such as the timber sash windows, ashlar limestone dressings and slate roofs.
