Castledermot claims Lorcán Ua Tuathail as its own, though Kilkea gave him birth in 1128. The boy was imprisoned by Diarmait Mac Murchada for two years, a cage that broke him open instead of closing him. He laughed when his father suggested drawing lots for priesthood because the hunger had already chosen him. Glendalough took the boy; Dublin took the archbishop; history took the saint. The village keeps the part other places forgot: the marrow under the skin.
