Gateway, c.1825, comprising pair of limestone ashlar piers with carved cut-limestone capping supporting finials, wrought iron double gates having cast-iron finials, and tooled limestone ashlar curved flanking walls supporting wrought iron railings having cast-iron finials. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Lodgepark House.
An elegantly-appointed gateway displaying high quality stone masonry together with early iron work enhancing the artistic design statement of the composition. Forming a neat group with an attendant gate lodge (12400924/KK-09-24) the resulting ensemble makes a positive visual impression at the entrance to the grounds of the Lodgepark House estate.
