Lodge

In pasture, tall roofless late 19th-century tower. Indicated on 1905 OS 6-inch map as lodge beside ringfort (12794) c. 20m to W, with avenue into Modeligo House (named on 1905 OS 6-inch map to N) in between. Avenue no longer survives. Square tower (2.9m E-W; 2.9m N-S; H c. 8m) of random-rubble sandstone construction with slight base batter. Door ope, stone arched with wooden lintel, in W wall; brick-arched windows in all four elevations. Slightly projecting embattled parapet wall. Internal walls have socket holes to support stairs; previous visit noted wooden stairway lying in nearby field. Roof collapsed.
