What is recorded here

Lissagillaroe is a fairy fort in County Cork, Ireland. Its stone-faced bank and narrow gap mark a boundary where human pasture ends and hidden life begins. People may have built the ring for defense or worship, yet the fairies apparently claimed it later. The fort still stands atop its hillock, waiting for someone brave or foolish enough to enter.

In pasture, atop hillock. Circular area (39.5m SW-NE) enclosed by scarp (H 2.45m), with low internal lip S->NE (H 0.2m). Bank stone-faced externally to NE. Gap in bank to NE. Fosse survives to NE and SE (D 0.25m), infilled to N with rubble and slates. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
