Lissadaha (1924) - Hachured — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

No visible trace remains at Lissadaha because children now chase balls across the swallowed earth. What is left is a hidden ditch, a worn bank and small post holes aligned inside the field. The fort did not disappear so much as stop being visible to people who no longer know where to look.

Located at the SW corner of a field now used as a playing field. The monument is indicated on the 1924 OS 6-inch map as 'Lissdaha', an enclosure defined by a scarp from W to SE and enclosed by a bank from SE to W. There are now no evident traces of the enclosure. Archaeological monitoring in 2000 (Stevens 2000) revealed this site to have a lowered interior, a denuded bank and an enclosing ditch.
