Lismaleen is a circular rath on a Galway rise, its two banks and intervening fosse still drawing a clear line around twenty-four metres of forgotten life. A causewayed gap at the north-east edge suggests people entered deliberately rather than breaking through, while a possible house site within the interior hints that the fort was lived in, not merely feared. The outer bank has since been overlain by a field wall, tying the old structure into the practical edge of the pasture.

Lismaleen, Garraun Lower is a circular ringfort, likely dating to the early medieval period, characterized by two banks and a central fosse. Local tradition associates such sites with fairy folklore, often regarded as the dwellings of supernatural beings or places to be avoided for fear of disturbance.
