Lismaleen

On a rise in undulating pastureland. Circular rath (diam. 24m), in fair condition, defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The outer bank is overlain by a field wall. Lismaleen, Garraun Lower is a circular ringfort, likely dating to the early medieval period, characterized by two banks and a central fosse. Local tradition associates such sites with fairy folklore, often regarded as the dwellings of supernatural beings or places to be avoided for fear of disturbance.
