Lisknocknahulla

In pasture, on a S-facing slope. Access was not gained to this rath. It is indicated on the 1895 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) in the NW corner of a field. According to local information, the rath was levelled in the mid-1990s at the same time as another rath (KE057-062----), c. 80m to the NW. In the 1840s it was recorded that 'there are two forts towards the eastern part of the townland', one unnamed and the other, which had a trigonometrical station on it, was called 'Angles or Lissknocknaholla' (OSNB, Killorglin, no. 1, 10). However, on the 1846 OS 6-inch map the name 'Lissknocknahulla' was attached to this rath and the trigonometrical station is on the nearby rath (KE057-062----).
