What is recorded here

Lishonagh is a subcircular fairy fort on a gentle E-facing slope in County Galway, its earthen bank still marking a space nearly sixty metres across. Quarrying has bitten into the NE and ESE edge, and modern gaps puncture the WSW, NW and NNE, yet the ring remains visible in the grassland. People may have lived inside that circle before quarry wheels arrived, or the fairies may have simply waited for the soil to be taken and the boundary to blur. Either way, the fort still holds its shape against forgetting.

On a gentle E-facing slope in grassland. Subcircular rath (N-S 60.5m, NE-SW 49.7m), in fair condition, defined by a bank except from NE to ESE where quarrying has encroached upon the monument.
