What is recorded here
Ballywee holds a possible circular enclosure, visible only when light strips the soil bare. The uncertainty is not a mistake; it is the shape of the place. A ring may have stood there, marked ownership or marked reverence, while people moved through fields that no longer remember the line. LiDAR does not claim history, it refuses to bury the doubt. The circle waits under grass, complete enough to be seen and quiet enough to resist explanation.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as LiDAR site- Possible rath/ circular enclosure. Recorded period: UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
