What is recorded here
Letitia Marion Hamilton died in Dublin on 11 August 1964, ending a life spent turning Irish light into loose, fluid oil and watercolour. She had won a bronze medal at the 1948 London Olympics and co-founded the Society of Dublin Painters, yet her greatest joy may have been painting from a gondola in Venice, where water and sky kept rewriting themselves. Her brushes moved quickly because the world kept changing; she only recorded what it showed before it disappeared.
