Leper hospital in Youghal-Lands

Leper hospital

What is recorded here

According to Gwynn and Hadcock (1988, 357), this lazar house was connected with St. John's hospital (CO067-059----). It stood 'on a breezy hill adjacent to the town and not far from a chalybeate spa' (Hayman 1879, 38). The location of this lazar house is unknown, though a field known locally as 'Lazar Field' on the S side of Cork Hill may indicate its general location (Zajac et al. 1995, 108).
