Leo Varadkar was born in Dublin, Ireland on 18 January 1979. He later became Taoiseach, serving from 2017 to 2020 and again from 2022 to 2024. His father Ashok was born in Mumbai, India, while his mother Miriam grew up on a farm in Dungarvan, County Waterford. Varadkar represented Dublin West in the Dáil from 2007 to 2024 and led Fine Gael during much of that time.
