What is recorded here

Lutudarum, the Roman administrative centre for British lead mining, still casts a shadow over the muddy hills where men bled for silver-grey veins. The industry gave some men grand tombs and others early graves, proving that lead always takes as much as it gives.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as LEAD MINE - Chimney of South Engine House (IHR site - c.f. IHR 2633:1 for details). Recorded period: C19TH. Recorded protection: Scheduled.
