What is recorded here

Leacht in Inis Oírr is a rectangular limestone marker beside a Galway church, holding a slab askew above a neat plinth. It is the kind of place where prayer, memory and loss may have been shaped into stone long before written records arrived. The nearby hollowed bullaun stone suggests water, ritual or repeated human use, while the leaning capstone resembles a gesture interrupted rather than a finished declaration.

Located c. 15m to the SE of the church (GA120-002001-), this rectangular leacht (1.75m E-W; 1.55m N-S) is constructed of a neat plinth of limestone masonry. A rectangular limestone slab rests slightly askew on top of it (information from Dr J. Waddell). There is a bullaun stone (GA120-002005-) on the ground to the NW.
