Laura Izibor

Laura Izibor emerged from Dublin in 1987, the fourth child of an Irish mother and Nigerian father. She sang in a drama class at thirteen, taught herself piano at fourteen, and won the RTÉ 2FM Song Contest at fifteen. Jive Records signed her at seventeen, but she left after a dispute and joined Atlantic Records in New York. Her debut album appeared in May 2009, reaching number two in Ireland.
