What is recorded here

Largie Castle stood in Aberdeenshire during the Post Medieval period, leaving behind dressed stones and a triangular block carved with a shield and the date 1611. That block now sits in the northwest gable of a nearby farm building, pulling the forgotten castle into the everyday world. The castle itself has vanished, but its marker still watches the fields, waiting for someone to read the shield and imagine the hands that shaped it.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Largie as Castle (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
