Kyleworia (Childrens Burial Gd)

Children's burial ground

What is recorded here

Kyleworia is a children's burial ground in County Clare, Ireland. It is a place where young lives ended and were laid to rest, marking the community's deepest loss and love. The name itself suggests a worshipping or honoring of children, perhaps through ritual, grief, or memory. What is certain is that this was not ordinary land. It was set apart for the smallest victims of time, disease, or fate, and the people who lived nearby carried that responsibility in their bones.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
