What is recorded here

On the S-facing slope of a ridge in pastureland. Classified by McCaffrey (1952, 143, no. 12) as a circular ‘Earthen fort’ (diam. c. 47.6m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. Traces of internal stone-facing were evident on the inner bank and there was a stone-lined entrance gap (Wth c. 2.7m) at E. The monument has been ploughed out and, apart from a slight hollow in the field, no visible surface trace survives.
