Knockaunpastia Fort

Knockaunpastia Fort in County Galway lost half its shape to quarrying, yet the northern earthworks still trace a rectangular defence beside the Kilshanvy River. Two banks and a ditch remain clearest at the northwestern corner, while a gap on the western side suggests the entrance used for controlled passage. Inside stands a cashel, hinting that the fort may have been occupied across more than one era. What is missing has been taken for usefulness, but what remains still distinguishes protection from ordinary pasture.
