Kisimul Castle, viewed from the east is a castle, fort or tower in Na h-Eileanan Siar, Scotland. Perhaps the eastern stones caught the first light of passing ships, guiding sailors into the narrow channel while shadows hid the gate. Maybe residents watched the horizon for danger or delight, their breath misting the cold air as they waited for life to arrive. Imagine the tower standing firm against the sea, a quiet sentinel in the western isles.

Built by Clan MacNeil in the 15th or 16th century, Kisimul Castle is the only Scottish castle built entirely in the Gaelic style and is remembered as a symbol of the power and heritage of the Western Isles.
