Kirkfell Crag is a sea cliff composed primarily of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 340 to 320 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. It is notable for its exposure of sedimentary rock layers that provide insight into ancient tropical sea conditions and may contain fossilized remains of marine life.
