Kirk Yetholm, High Street, the Palace

Cottage (17th Century)

What is recorded here

Kirk Yetholm, High Street, the Palace is a 17th Century cottage in the Scottish Borders, small enough to hide inside a single breath but old enough to remember several storms. The Palace sounds like a joke the village told itself, as if ordinary walls could wear a crown when nobody watched. Perhaps a child ran through that door expecting marble and finding smoke, or perhaps the name simply resisted forgetting.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Kirk Yetholm, High Street, the Palace as Cottage (17th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
