What is recorded here

Kinpurnie Castle is a baronial mansion built in 1908 for Sir Charles W. Cayzer, still occupied by his family beneath twin drum towers and a porte-cochere added in 1910. Yet the same ground holds a prehistoric burial cairn and possible cist, where anonymous hands may have stacked stones for the dead before Cayzer carts rumbled past. The castle does not erase that older chamber; it occupies the same soil, forcing us to imagine which lives still sleep beneath its polished floors.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Kinpurnie Castle as Burial Cairn (prehistoric), Cist (prehistoric)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
