About 50 years ago a cist was uncovered while removing sand. It contained an 'Urn'. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Urn burial cist; likely dates to the Bronze Age. Such burials are significant for understanding early funerary practices and social structures in the region.
