Kinclaven Castle stands in Perth and Kinross as a medieval ruin, its stones worn smooth by centuries of rain and wind. Kinclaven Castle was built in the late 13th or early 14th century by the Comyn family, a powerful noble dynasty in medieval Scotland. It is remembered for its strategic importance in the Wars of Scottish Independence, particularly as a site associated with the murder of John Comyn, Lord of Badenoch, in 1306, which had significant political consequences for Robert the Bruce.
