Kinclaven Castle is a small iron spearhead from an unassigned period, not a grand stone hall. It belongs to Perth and Kinross, where sharp metal cut through air and flesh instead of walls blocking entry. The castle label misleads because the weapon itself was the castle, a temporary point of damage rather than a permanent home.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Kinclaven Castle as Spearhead (iron)(period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Kinclaven Castle was built by the Comyn family in the 13th century and later held by the Earls of Buchan. It is important as a strategic stronghold in the Scottish borders and for its historical association with key medieval Scottish noble families.
