Kilwaughter Castle is a ruined castle in County Antrim where a 17th Century tower still lies inside a much larger house designed by John Nash for Edward Jones Agnew in 1806. It passed through Scottish, Italian and American hands before British soldiers trained inside it during the Second World War and a scrap dealer removed its lead roof. The Ferguson family bought the ruins in 1982 to save them, leaving behind a place where grandeur, loss and stubborn care all remain visible.
