Kiln

In pasture, in the SW corner of a modern walled field, located on a ridge in an area of sharply undulating terrain. This consists of a roughly C-shaped structure (c. 7m NW–SE; c. 4m NE–SW; H c. 1.2m) built into a SW-facing slope, and defined on its perimeter by a sod-covered, raised rim from which stones protrude. It encloses a central depression (diam. c. 1-1.5m), open to SW. It was recorded as a possible fulacht fia in 1986 in a sketch plan (SMR file: pers. comm. W. Forbes, mound ‘D’).
