Kilmaskuit Burial Ground is a children's burial site on a broad Clare ridge, marked disused by 1897 yet still holding an elongated mound where field walls guard its northern and eastern edges. The absence of upright stones does not diminish the purpose of the place, for small lives may have been laid beneath turf while adults watched from the pasture. The nearby raths and wide horizon make the ridge feel less like forgotten land and like a chamber where childhood returned to the earth.

On a broad low ridge running ENE-WSW, in pasture, with wide views to E and W. Indicated as a small subrectangular area and named ‘Kilmaskuit Burial Ground’ on the first edition (1842) of the OS 6-inch map. Labelled ‘Kilmaskuit Burial Gd.’ (Disused)’ on the OS 25-inch plan (1897) and Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Burial ground’ in the RMP (1996). According to local information (1999), this is a children’s burial ground and comprises an elongated mound (25m N-S; 7m E-W; H 0.3-0.5m) located in the NE corner of a field where field boundary walls define its N and E limits. Some field stones lie on the ground but none are earthfast or set upright. There is a rath (CL017-213----) c. 85m to the N, and another (CL017-128----) c. 160m to the ENE.
