Killeenagh Burial Gd (Disused)

Burial ground

What is recorded here

Killeenagh is a disused burial ground inside a ringfort in County Cork. Three graves and scattered markers still mark the earth, though no human name survives to identify them. The quiet field holds more than stone; it holds the forgotten lives of whoever bled, loved and died there before the world stopped remembering.
In ringfort (CO127-007002-). Not named on OS 6-inch map (1842). Three burials and some grave markers noted in interior. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
