What is recorded here

Kilkere (Site of) is a burial ground in Highwood, County Sligo, Ireland. It occupies a sloping plateau about 350 metres southeast of Highwood but remains hidden from ground-level view. The site appeared in an 1836 description as an old burial ground on the east side of the townland, while a possible church and cashel stand nearby to the southwest.
On a sloping plateau, c. 350m SE of Highwood. Not visible at ground level. Recorded in 1836 as an 'old burial ground in the East side of the townland' (OSNB vol. 2, 201). There is a possible church (SL041-007001-) c. 80m to SW and a cashel (SL041-007002-) c. 70m to SW.
