What is recorded here

Kilcushin Burial Gd is a hidden circular grave yard on a north facing Cork slope where an earthen bank and stone fence enclose thirty metres of overgrown pasture. No markers break the grass, yet a strange stone group sits in the west half like a forgotten offering. People may have stopped visiting when the path disappeared, leaving the dead to rest beneath grass instead of memory.
In pasture on break in N-facing slope. Heavily overgrown subcircular area (diam. c. 30m) enclosed by earthen bank to N; by stone fencing elsewhere. No grave markers noted in interior. Anamolous stone group (CO142-001002-) in W half. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
