What is recorded here

Kilcarrignacat B Gd (Children) is a burial ground inside a ringfort in County Cork, Ireland. Low mounds still dot the interior, and local tradition claims they mark child graves rather than ordinary soil. The name and the small shape of the bumps suggest a place set apart for the youngest dead, perhaps hidden from adult sight or kept close for love.
In ringfort (CO143-084001-). Many low mounds in interior are said locally to mark burials. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
